BWW Review: CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL Doesn't 'Meat' My Expectations
by Alan Henry
- Feb 18, 2015
If you bill a show as 'From the co-creator of South Park and The Book of Mormon' you're going to set the expectations pretty high. Cannibal! The Musical opened last night in Toronto, and as much as I really wanted to like it - it came across rather flat, even in the intimate Panasonic Theatre.

BroadwayWorld has a preview of tracks from the upcoming stage premier of CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL in Toronto at The Panasonic Theatre. The highly anticipated new production tells the hilarious, and (mostly) true story of Alferd Packer, the only person ever convicted ofcannibalism in America. Based on Parker's fan-favourite film of the same name, Cannibal! The Musical will premiere a brand new production featuring new songs, new jokes, and an all-Canadian cast led by Liam Tobin as Packer (Shrek the Musical, MTC's Next to Normal) and Elicia MacKenzie (The Sound of Music; winner of CBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?) as Polly Pry, Packer's unexpected love interest.

BWW Reviews: Drayton Entertainment's 'DAMN YANKEES'
by Mary Alderson
- Jul 10, 2014
Huron Country Playhouse has a heart-warming home run hit with Damn Yankees, now on the main stage. This little-known Broadway musical dates back to 1955, and while you might not be familiar with the show, you will certainly recognize some of the tunes. Based on the Faustian legend about a German scholar who makes a pact with the Devil in exchange for great knowledge and wisdom, this show is reminiscent of the great Canadian curling play, The Black Bonspiel of Wullie MacCrimmon, written by W. O. Mitchell in 1951.
BWW Reviews: 'SOUTH PACIFIC' at the Huron Country Playhouse

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical SOUTH PACIFIC (book by Hammerstein and Joshua Logan) is currently playing at Drayton Entertainment's Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend, Ontario, under the direction (and choreography) of MICHAEL LICHTEFELD and it is an absolute delight!
BWW Reviews: ELF, From the North Pole to New York
by Mary Alderson
- Dec 2, 2013
Elf, the Christmas musical now on stage at London's Grand Theatre is an endearing show, thanks to a funny, well-written script, and a six foot four Elf who can deliver the lines. Liam Tobin is perfect as Buddy the Elf: He's taken the best that Will Ferrell had in the movie version of Elf, but his portrayal of the 30 year old child-like character is more reminiscent of Tom Hanks in 1988 movie Big. Either way, Tobin has made Buddy very lovable and almost believable.
BWW Reviews: 'West Side Story' Deutsche Oper Berlin
by Marcel Konrath
- Jun 27, 2012
