New York Youth Symphony Announces New Music Director

The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Jinhong Kim as Music Director of the Orchestra beginning in the 2023/2024 season. The position is currently held by Michael Repper, who completing his tenure at the end of this season after six years. Mr. Kim is joining an illustrious roster of prior NYYS Music Directors, including Leonard Slatkin, David Alan Miller, Samuel Wong, and Miguel-Bedoya.

The Oratorio Society of New York (OSNY), led by Music Director Kent Tritle, continues its 2022–23 season with its 148th performance of Handel's Messiah on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. This year's performance includes soloists soprano Maria Brea, contralto Heather Petrie, tenor Joshua Blue, and baritone Jesse Blumberg, together with the Orchestra of the Society.

Music Director Leon Botstein conducts The Orchestra Now in the first concert of its annual Carnegie Hall series on Thursday, November 3 at 7 PM. The program offers rarely performed works by four early 20th century German and Austrian composers from The Lost Generation, whose music was unfairly ignored or suppressed during and following World War II.
