New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP) continues its 44th season beginning Thursday, December 27 with five performances of The Pirates of Penzance at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (E. 68th Street Between Park and Lexington Avenues).

Culinary superstars Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis are back to mentor and judge ten culinary hopefuls for a shot at stardom in the new season of Food Network Star, premiering Sunday, June 10th at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. Over nine episodes the finalists are tasked with challenges that test both their cooking and on-camera skills, as they try to prove to Bobby and Giada they have what it takes to be a star. Before the main competition gets started, Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence return to co-host a new season of Food Network Star: Comeback Kitchen, premiering on Sunday, May 27th at 9pm ET/PT, as eight former finalists battle it out to earn a spot on the new season. FoodNetwork.com's Star Salvation, hosted by Alex Guarnaschelli, also returns to give finalists eliminated during the season a chance to rejoin the on-air competition. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its Spring 2018 Music Series with Anton Batagov and the Attacca Quartet on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This varied evening of music features the World Premiere of Different Things from influential post-minimalist Russian composer and pianist Anton Batagov, paired with Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18, No. 6. Batagov's Different Things will be performed by the composer (at the piano) and the Attacca Quartet, one of America's premier young string ensembles, along with Kris Saebo, double bass; Linda Jones, soprano; Luthien Brackett, mezzo soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; and Steven Hrycelak, bass.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Spring 2018 Music Series, which runs January through April and features an eclectic lineup of premieres and performances by international musicians. The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) and Jazz Foundation of America will co-present Stanley Jordan on Today, March 9, 2017 at 8pm at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater. Among the most gifted guitarists of his generation, Jordan is master of the two-handed tapping technique, using the neck of the guitar like a keyboard rather than strumming or picking. Applying this astonishing technique, or "touch style" in another setting, Jordan also performs on both guitar and piano at the same time, playing chords and melodies with his hands on separate instruments and uniquely melding the two sounds into one. More than a technical phenomenon, Jordan conveys an astounding depth of musical expression through a multi-faceted solo repertoire, ranging from bold reinventions of classical masterpieces to improvisational contemporary works. At BAC, Jordan will be joined for several songs by his daughter, New York City-based singer/songwriter Julia Jordan.

When DON PASQUALE first opened in 1843 it was instantly recognized as Gaetano Donizetti's masterpiece, and for many it still holds that distinction. In the classic opera, with a ruse and a disguise, Don Pasquale learns not to marry in old age and consents for his nephew to marry the woman of his choosing.
