I started to play the guitar when I was 12. When I finally decided to try to be an actor for a living.... Musical theatre was something I gravitated to because it combined two of my favorite things...music and dance belts (or girls...or girls in dance belts). When I was in high school I sang in a rock band (we were totally sensitive) and I love that feeling of getting out there with a band creating a cacophony of different sounds. So, when they asked me to write a blerg (the Tina Fey pronunciation), I decided to write mine about the band.

Krystal Joy Brown is taking on the role of Eve in the World Premiere of Falling for Eve, a new musical with book by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, at the York Theatre at Saint Peter's. Brown made her Broadway debut in Hair and began her career as Mimi in the national tour of Rent. Recently, entertainment reporter Nick Orlando called Brown to talk about her exciting life, new show and what she has in the works.

Well, maybe we are. And maybe you are too. I used to like to consider a lot of the crazy people who stopped to talk to me in the street my guardian angels. Some drunk guy would walk up to me and tell me to follow my dreams: guardian angel. That was when I first got to New York. I was younger then (cough, cough, smoke, smoke.) And yet, I do feel quite lucky (shall I use the word blessed?) to go out on stage and work with these lovely and talented people on Falling for Eve every night. I also love getting to talk to the audience. Especially when they are smiling and look like they are ready for a good time. That's right, y'all: I can see your faces. That's also right, friends and family: Please sit in the fourth row or further back.

'Bryant Park, Trailers and Free Juice' by Jose Llana The morning started with a sound check. FALLING FOR EVE was performing in Bryant Park for the Annual Summer Concert Series sponsored and hosted by LiteFM. We were singing three songs from the show, as were a few other shows currently on the boards.

Four-time Tony Award-nominee Raúl Esparza and Golden Globe Award-nominee Brooke Shields will star in the world premiere of the new musical LEAP OF FAITH, which begins performances at theCenter Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in September.

Viagara Falls, a new comedy by Lou Cutell and Joao Machado, opened this week at the Little Shubert Theatre.
