In a recent article by The Boston Globe, Bill Hanney, the new owner of the North Shore Music Theatre, is enthusiastic about the theatre's future. Despite still being under construction, GYPSY is set to open in 11 days.

Langston in Harlem has a book by Langston Hughes, Walter Marks and Kent Gash, with music by Walter Marks, lyrics by Langston Hughes and directed by Kent Gash, with Barry Levitt as music producer, choreography by Byron Easley, and musical direction by John DiPinto.

The new NSMT is under the leadership and ownership of Bill Hanney. Experienced in theater management, Hanney is also the Owner/Producer of Theatre By The Sea in Rhode Island, a 500 seat summer theatre now in it's 4th successful year under his leadership. Mr Hanney is also the owner/operator of Entertainment Cinemas, a chain of movie theatres throughout New England.

Rhode Island Theatre Owner Talks North Shore Music Theatre Revitilization

As previously reported by the Salem News, William Hanney, owner of Theatre By the Sea in Matunuck, Rhode Island, is in talks to purchase the building previously known as the North Shore Music Theatre. The theatre has been out of business since June, when they announced that they were unable to raise the necessary funds and pay off their debts.
