Houston Chamber Choir to Honor President John F. Kennedy, 11/9

Houston Chamber Choir presents Requiem for a President, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the historic Christ Church Cathedral(1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX 77002). The evening offers a poignant 50th anniversary observance of President John F. Kennedy's assassination. The concert takes place less than two blocks away from where President Kennedy attended an event at the Rice Hotel on November 21, 1963, the night before his trip to Dallas. The concert features Maurice Durufle's Requiem for choir and organ, A Curse Upon Iron by Estonian composer Veljo Tormis. and Samuel Barber's renowned Adagio for Strings, arranged for voices.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art will exhibit the artworks installed in the president's suite at the Hotel Texas during his visit to Fort Worth in 1963. On view from October 12, 2013, through January 12, 2014, Hotel Texas: An Art Exhibition for the President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy is presented in association with the Dallas Museum of Art, which organized the exhibition.

ALBERT PODELL and THE YORK SHAKESPEARE COMPANY are pleased to announce the world premiere production of Alexander Harrington's The Great Society, directed by Seth Duerr. The Great Society will play a four-week limited engagement at the Clurman Theatre (Theatre Row: 410 West 42nd Street, NYC). Performances began Saturday, August 3 and continue through Saturday, August 24. Opening Night is tonight, August 8 (8 p.m.).

Airspace Lounge, a new-generation airport lounge network open to all airline passengers, opened today in John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 5 (T5). The newest Airspace Lounge facility operated by Swissport and the only airport lounge in T5 is conveniently located post-security near Gate 24 of T5, which serves JetBlue Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, and Aer Lingus.

Below preview Vittorio J's just-released Kickstarter campaign video that imagines Marilyn Monroe and President John F. Kennedy in a provocative bedroom scene, with flavors of '50 Shades of Grey'. The screening of the controversial segment will take place at the site of Monroe's legendary appearance in 'The Seven Year Itch' today, June 5 at 2 p.m. (in front of 590 Lexington Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Streets). The creative team behind the project will discuss the Kickstarter campaign and development of the video, which features the Monroe doppelganger suggestively tied to a bed.
