As Associate Artistic Director, Mr. Ross will work in close collaboration with Mr. Boal to implement and advance PNB’s artistic vision, and consult on all artistic matters including programming, hiring, and casting. He will also provide oversight for PNB’s special projects such as Next Step, PNB Dance Film Festival, and digital programming. As part of his new appointment, Mr. Ross will continue to co-lead PNB’s I.D.E.A. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) committee.

The School Of American Ballet celebrated Suki Schorer's 50th Anniversary at SAB on Friday evening, June 3rd, 2022. Since joining the permanent faculty in 1972, Suki has touched the lives of countless young dancers, imparting her wisdom and singular understanding of Balanchine's teaching and aesthetic to generations of students. The School will honor Suki at its 2022 Workshop Performances.

The American Opera Project Receives New Music USA Project Grant

The American Opera Project has received a New Music USA Project Grant to support the continued development and world premiere of The Night Falls, a new dance-driven blend of dance, opera, and musical theater choreographed and directed by Troy Schumacher (the New York City Ballet), with book and lyrics by Karen Russell (Swamplandia!), and music and lyrics by Ellis Ludwig-Leone (San Fermin).

Composer Joseph Rubinstein and Librettist Jason Kim Receive Latest Opera Genesis Fellowships

The Hermitage Artist Retreat in Englewood, FL and New York City's American Opera Projects (AOP) announce the second Opera Genesis Fellowships to composer Joseph N. Rubinstein and librettist Jason Kim. The award includes a six-week Hermitage residency, in which these two artists will work on their new opera Legendary, about the drag balls of the 1980s in New York City. The Opera Genesis Fellowship awards are presented annually to artists who have completed training in AOP's Composer & the Voice (C&V) training program which helps to develop contemporary American opera.
