Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival is proud to announce details about this year's virtual festival, including an exciting line-up of 75 incredible films, authors and guest speakers from around the world. Highlights include polar explorer Børge Ousland, who traversed the Arctic ice cap from Alaska to Norway in 2019; Bruce Kirkby, a Canadian adventurer, whose new book Blue Sky Kingdom is about a low carbon journey from British Columbia to the Himalaya; and Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison, who did the first ski descent of Lhotse, the world's fourth-highest peak.

Celebrated New York stage actor and stand-up comedian Mario Cantone returns to Café Carlyle, April 7-11. He gained critical acclaim with his Tony-nominated one-man show Laugh Whore, from its appearance at the Cort Theatre on Broadway to the Showtime special. The previous theatre season saw Cantone starring in the Tony-winning Assassins by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman. Both hit shows were directed by four-time Tony-winner Joe Mantello. San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced today the cast and creative team for The Humans, winner of the 2016 Tony Award for Best Play. The production, written by Stephen Karam and directed by REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey, will run January 9 - February 2, 2020, in San Diego REP's Lyceum Space Theatre, with previews January 9 - 14 and press opening on Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m.
