It was announced today Jeremy O. Harris will be the inaugural Creative Director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s Creative Collective, a new artistic leadership model that will ensure boundary-breaking and diverse programming, create new opportunities for emerging artists, and foster shared ownership of the creative vision for the Festival. 

Slave Play, the provocative work from playwright Jeremy O. Harris, is headed to London's West End in a production led by Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and Olivia Washington with Fisayo Akinade and Aaron Heffernan.

Instead of bringing finished songs to the studio, they entered the picturesque Panoramic House recording in Stinson Beach with sketches, ideas, and riffs. Working with co-producer Jeremy Harris (White Fence, Devendra Banhart, Ty Segall) they shaped and crafted the new songs in real time over three sessions.

Hand Habits, the moniker of Los Angeles-based Meg Duffy (they/them), shares “The Bust of Nefertiti,” the final single from their upcoming new record, Sugar The Bruise. Hand Habits has also announced your dates supporting The National in addition to the already announced headlining North America summer tour.

The glammy and electronic strut “The Stuff” signals the start of a new era for Allah-Las, and finds the band reinventing itself in defiance of the algorithmic categorization and robotic sterility. Showing another side of the album the instrumental “Zuma 85” features field recordings with chimes that precede Manuel Göttsching (Ash Ra)-style guitars.

The production scheduled for The Bushnell’s Belding Theatre July 26th – August 7th will be rescheduled at a later date.

Center Theatre Group has announced a Black Out for the Friday, February 11, 2022, 8 p.m. performance of “Slave Play” at the Mark Taper Forum. Playwright Jeremy O. Harris and Los Angeles-born artist Martine Syms will welcome the audience to this special performance of “Slave Play” with a pre-show address.

Playwright Jeremy O. Harris' Tony-nominated Slave Play was set to arrive on the west coast next year as a part of Center Theatre Group's new season; however, the show may not run as planned. Harris writes in a tweet today that he is withdrawing the play from the season to make room for works from young, female playwrights.
