On June 30th, The REV Theatre Company reopens its historic flagship venue, the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, with the song and dance spectacular, 42nd Street. The show marks the company's return to live performances and runs through July 28 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Emerson Park. Associate conductor Nate Patten (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) is never one to hold back opinions on his own podcast, Booked It. And so along with host Patrick Oliver Jones, Patten addresses some of the confusion, consternation, and controversy created by this year's Tony Award nominations.

It was recently announced that composer Michael Mott and book writer Nathan Wright plan to create a full-length concept recording for their new musical, In The Light, A Faustian Tale, inspired by the classic Faust legend. The show's 11 o'clock number, Her Embrace, was recorded by Jeremy Jordan. Now, the show's writers are bringing you behind the song in an all new video.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival is now presenting a thought-provoking production of Working a Musical at the Merry – Go – Round Playhouse. The musical features a book by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso with additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg; music by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Lin-Manual Miranda, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, Stephen Schwartz, and James Taylor; and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Pittsburgh CLO will launch its second New Musicals Weekend, a project of the Next Generation Campaign's New Small Musicals Initiative. New Musicals Weekend, the mini version of the SPARK festival, takes the core goals of SPARK and puts them into action over just seven days. New Musicals Weekend aims to develop new musicals for the CLO Cabaret by supporting writing teams with financial and creative resources and by building relationships with local and national artists.

On last night's episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' the cast of Tony Award-winning Broadway musical 'The Band's Visit' performed a scaled-down version of 'Omar Sharif' with Katrina Lenk.

The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Band's Visit will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Upon closing, the production will have played 589 regular and 36 preview performances at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 W 47th Street).
