Northern Sky Theater Announces Cancellation of 2020 Fall Season

Northern Sky Theater, in Door County, Wisconsin, has announced that it will cancel its 2020 fall indoor season in the new Gould Theater. The company hoped to present Naked Radio in September and October, as well as And If Elected in October.

Northern Sky Theater Creative Center & Gould Theater, designed by Madison-based firm Strang, Inc., has been awarded In Business' 2020 Commercial Design Award for Best New Development or Renovation in the Retail Category. The annual In Business Commercial Design Awards recognize the best commercial design projects built in the state of Wisconsin.
Northern Sky Theater Exceeds Giving Tuesday Goals

Giving Tuesday was a huge success for Northern Sky thanks to the generous support of their donors. An anonymous donor provided a challenge gift to match every donation on Giving Tuesday up to $5,000. When the company reached their goal before noon, the donor kicked in an additional $1,000 to their match. Within 12 hours, the company raised well over their $12,000 goal.

On Sunday, May 27th, Northern Sky's company members, capital campaign donors and board of directors gathered to officially break ground on the company's new campus on the corner of A & F in Fish Creek. In 2017, Northern Sky embarked on the public phase of its 'Constellation Campaign' with the hope of breaking ground on its new property in the spring of 2018.
Northern Sky Theater Announces Ticket Sale Dates and Casting for Summer Season

Tickets go on sale April 2nd for Northern Sky Theater's summer 2018 season. Casting has also been announced for the season, including BOXCAR, DAIRY HEIRS, and LUMBERJACKS IN LOVE. The three musical comedies will rotate in repertory from June 13th - August 25th at the outdoor amphitheater in Peninsula State Park.

Northern Sky's Fall Season features the musical comedy Muskie Love playing August 31st - October 20th at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. Premiering in 2004, Muskie Love was the first collaboration by the now veteran writing team of Dave Hudson and Paul Libman. Muskie Love is set on the shores of Green Bay and follows the exploits of Ben and Bea, rival fishing guides in Door County.
New Musicals Inc. Releases New Video Interviews with Joe Barros and Jeff Herbst

Another video from the Stages Musical Theatre Festival was just released this week. New Musicals Inc. aired 51 hours of live streamcast footage of musical theatre readings, concerts, creative sessions, as well as interviews with writers and producers, all part of the most recent Stages Musical Theatre Festival. The Festival ran for fifteen years in Chicago before New Musicals Inc. brought it to the West Coast about a decade ago.
