Ariel Quartet to Present BEETHOVEN CYCLE of Concerts in Early 2014

The Ariel Quartet presents its first Beethoven Cycle during a series of six concerts in January, February and March of 2014. The acclaimed string quartet-in-residence at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) will present a complete tour of Ludwig Van Beethoven's 17 string quartets (including the “Große Fuge” or “Grand Fugue”) in a performance series dubbed “The Cycle.”

The community is invited to enjoy two festive holiday-themed concerts, to be presented by Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Music students in December. Both concerts are free and open to the public, and will take place at Kelsey Theatre, located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) has announced initial casting for its new Off-Broadway production of the 1950 musical revue Bless You All! with sketches by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ("The Phil Silvers Show," Call Me Mister) and a score by acclaimed songwriter Harold Rome (Fanny, Destry Rides Again). Directed by UMC artistic director Ben West (The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), the limited three-week engagement will run Sep 19 - Oct 5 at The Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street), officially opening Sep 22.

Trinity Rep has announced the return of last winter's premiere event- Red White & Blues, a casual evening featuring food, wine, and dancing to the music of local band The Silks. Co-chaired by Gil MacLean and his wife Michelle Collie, sponsored by MacLean's store, Bottles Fine Wine, the benefit party will take place on Saturday January 12 from 7PM to midnight at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire St., Providence. Tickets are $60 in advance, $70 after December 24 and are available now online at www.trinityrep.com, by phone at 401-351-4242, in person at the Trinity Rep Box Office at 201 Washington St. A $100 VIP ticket is also available, which includes parking for the event and entrance into an exclusive champagne tasting once inside. The season finale of GSN's new hit show, THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE has revealed Team Judson's Legacy as the champions of the entire tournament. After winning two rounds of the intense competition, Team Judson's Legacy of Irvine, CA, went on to beat two other teams in the finale, winning a total of $140,000 for their partner charity, Hunter's Hope.
