BALAM Dance Theatre will open its 45th anniversary season with the opulent spring showing, Fiesta Odalan 45!, in New York City. 

To delight its community and celebrate the creativity that comes with the season, Theater for the New City (TNC), 155 First Ave., will present its 47th annual Village Halloween Costume Ball October 31. 

BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM) brings its captivating, joyful cross-cultural new program, Celebración de la Cultura Hispana con Baile y Canción / Celebrating Hispanic Culture with Dance and Song, to the Hempstead Public Library, on Saturday, October 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Learn more about the program here!

Balinese and Baroque vibrant court theatre traditions come to life in BALAM Dance Theatre's (BALAM) Return to the Garden of Love in Miniature.  This sequel to the company's well-received debut of Garden of Love in Miniature in 2022 features live Baroque music, song, dance, and an original script.   

Theater for the New City (TNC) will emphasize Covid safety in this year's Village Halloween Costume Ball, presenting a hybrid (indoor/outdoor) celebration on October 31 to delight its community, young and old, and to celebrate the creativity that comes with the season. 

The vitality of Bali combines with Baroque music, dance, and song in BALAM Dance Theatre's (BALAM) premiere of Garden of Love in Miniature.  The original and imaginative program will be presented both live and virtually by Midtown Concerts, a project of Gotham Early Music Scene, at Church of the Transfiguration, located at 1 East 29th Street, New York, New York 10016, on Thursday, April 21 from 1:15 to 1:55 p.m. EST.

Tonight, HOLA starts a new cycle of their HOLA Spotlight, in which the organization will be talking with artists and personalities who, in one way or another, actively participate to represent their community. They invite all to join them as they celebrate actor and filmmaker Loren Escandon, who will share about how, through her characters and productions, she has been able to represent Afro-Latin women and exploit their realities as a result of her context, socioeconomic status, and cultural background.

Theater for the New City has presented its Village Halloween Costume Ball annually since 1976. With safety paramount this year, the fete will take place October 31 as an open-air celebration outside the theater, on East Tenth Street between First and Second Avenues.

The Phoenix Theatre enters the summer season with a live online production of a Federico García Lorca classic inspired by a true story about a fatal feud between two families. This live virtual performance of Lorca's Blood Wedding (Bodas de Sangre) will be performed Friday, June 4 at 8 p.m. in English and Saturday, June 5 at 8 p.m. in Spanish.

The Marblehead School of Ballet presents New York City-based BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM) in the new magical program, Fiesta: A Celebration of Dance and Music, on Sunday, November 3.  The program features eclectic dances of Ballet, Balinese, Baroque, and Peruvian Colonial with live Italian theorbo music and Spanish song.  BALAM debuts on the North Shore on Sunday, November 3 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 115 Pleasant Street in Marblehead, Massachusetts.  A reception follows the performance at the school.
