Meg Booth Named CEO Of Society For The Performing Arts

Society for the Performing Arts (SPA) Board of Directors announced today the appointment of Meg Booth as the new Chief Executive Officer of Houston's prestigious non-profit presenting arts organization, effective December 1, 2018. An international arts leader, Booth joins SPA from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the leading cultural center in the nation's capital, where she currently is Director, Dance Programming. She joined the Kennedy Center in 2003 and has been in her most recent position for the past 11 years.
IMG Artists Announces 36-City 2019 North American Tour, 'We Shall Overcome Featuring Damien Sneed'

IMG Artists, today's leading global performing arts management agency, announces a 36-city North American tour with multi-genre recording artist Damien Sneed. The Sphinx Medal of Excellence recipient will bring his brand of classical, jazz, and gospel music to 'We Shall Overcome: A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., featuring Damien Sneed.' The tour will kick off on Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Empire Center at The Egg in Albany, NY, and will make stops at concert halls and universities in the U.S. and Canada. The tour will conclude on March 3 at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, CA.
Gilmore-Hoerner Endowment Presents Canadian Brass

The Gilmore-Hoerner Endowment will present a special, one night only concert by world renowned brass quintet, Canadian Brass on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg, PA. Tickets for the event are $13 each, all seats reserved, and are currently available at the Capitol Theatre at 717-263-0202 or online at www.thecapitoltheatre.org . The Box Office is open from 11:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Monday thru Friday and one hour prior to show. The theatre is located at 159 S. Main Street in Chambersburg, PA. The group will also present a brass instrument Master Class at 1:00 p.m. in the Capitol Theatre Wood Center. It is free of charge and open to music enthusiasts of all ages. The Monday, October 1, tribute is produced by and benefits the organization Hamlen founded, Classical Action: Performing Arts Against AIDS, now a program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
