THE ATTIC THEATER COMPANY and TED CAINE are pleased to present the world premiere production of JERICHO, by Academy Award nominee (Ragtime) and Drama Desk award-winning playwright Michael Weller (Moonchildren), directed by artistic director Laura Braza (Where Has Tommy Flowers Gone?). JERICHO will play a four-week limited engagement at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd St, New York, NY 10009). Performances begin Saturday, January 20 and continue through Saturday, February 10, 2018. The Storm Theatre Company, under the Artistic Direction of Peter Dobbins, will present THE FIGHT, a timely and relevant new play about the battles of modern feminism, written by Jonathan Leaf and directed by Mr. Dobbins, tonight, October 26th, through November 18th at Grand Hall (440 Grand Street).

Thousands of souls have their final resting place in Altadena's Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery but, once a year in the fall, the living invade the domain of the dead. That's when Unbound Productions' WICKED LIT takes over the grounds and creates a site-specific theatrical experience based on classic and original horror stories. It is unlike any other kind of theatre or Halloween event you've ever seen and it is seriously the coolest thing you can do in Southern California. Ask anyone who's done it.

Blackfriars Repertory Theatre and The Storm Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Death Comes for the War Poets, a dramatic verse tapestry by Joseph Pearce. The production, which will be performed June 9-24, 2017 at The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture's Black Box Theater, is directed by Peter Dobbins.

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston opens its 48th season with its first-rate production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic CAROUSEL. A triumvirate of women - Jennifer Ellis, Jessica Kundla, and Leigh Barrett - give sparkling performances, augmented by Broadway veteran Ciaran Sheehan, but Rachel Bertone's choreography makes this one of the best rides for the summer season.

Today in 1954, Carousel opened at City Center, where it ran for 79 performances. Carousel is the second stage musical by the team of Richard Rodgers (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (book and lyrics). The work premiered in 1945 and was adapted from Ferenc Molnar's 1909 play Liliom, transplanting its Budapest setting to the Maine coastline. The story revolves around carousel barker Billy Bigelow, whose romance with millworker Julie Jordan comes at the price of both their jobs. He attempts a robbery to provide for Julie and their unborn child; when it goes wrong, he has a chance to make things right.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is thrilled to present a world premiere adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's The Guardsman - translated from the original Hungarian by Molnar's great grandson Gabor Lukin and adapted and directed by Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte. Performances begin Wednesday, July 8th and continue through Sunday, July 26th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST, and hosted by Emmy-nominated actors Anna Chlumsky (“Veep,” Broadway's Living on Love) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family,” this summer's The Tempest). This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.

Mint Theater today announced that their current acclaimed production of Fashions For Men by Ferenc Molnar featuring Mark Bedard, Joe Delafield, Shawn Fagan, Zachary Fine, Jeremy Lawrence, Rachel Napoleon, Annie Purcell, Kurt Rhoads, Michael Schantz, Maren Searle, John Seidman, Jill Tanner, John Tufts, and Gabra Zackman, would now continue through April 12th at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street).

New York theatre director Phillip Fazio has teamed up with Los Angeles actress Sarah Wolter, who is making her directorial debut, and together have directed a hauntingly poignant production of Carousel for Mesa Encore Theatre. The musical direction is by Debra Jo Davey and choreographer is Jennifer Cafarella (Ballet Arizona). BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at the production below!

Stage and screen star Hugh Jackman, who recently returned to Broadway in Jez Butterworth's THE RIVER, is reportedly preparing for a new musical role. In a recent interview with Cigar Aficionado, Jackman revealed that a new film version of Carousel is in the works. Jackman previously played the role of Billy Bigelow in a 2002 concert version of the musical at Carnegie Hall.
