Music Theater Works has announced the updates to its current production season. The 2021 season is to be performed at its new home at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, 9501 Skokie Blvd.

MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Ragtime. Based on the 1975 novel by E. L. Doctorow, Ragtime is the Tony Award-winning musical with music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Terrence McNally.

The Tony Award winning book by Terrance McNally and score by Stephen Flahrety and Lynn Ahrens, focus on events taking place over a century ago, but RAGTIME's content and messages remain highly relevant, and important, particularly given the current socio-political climate.

This fall, audiences at Garden Theatre will be asked to confront themes of violence, immigration, and race during the theatre's season opener of Ragtime the Musical. The production, directed by Mark Edward Smith, features music direction by Robby Stamper and choreography by Carrie Crawford.

This production is directed by Casey Stangl, with choreography by Kelly Todd, and music direction by Robyn Manion. Ragtime: The Musical will now run for an additional two weeks through August 11th on the Cripe Stage at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

In 1975 E. L. Doctorow wrote an epic novel that encompassed racism, immigration, feminism, the unequal distribution of wealth, and the hope of 'The American Dream.' Terrence McNally took that story to the stage with music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Omaha Community Playhouse reprises that monumental musical from its own memorable run 13 years ago on its stage.
