Acting For Others Announce Over £110,000 Has Been Raised At This Year's One Night Only At The Ivy

Stars of the stage and screen swapped their costumes for aprons, and served diners for a one-off sitting at The Ivy, a restaurant renowned for its unfaltering service. Leading the waiting staff this year and trying their hand at bartending, waiting tables, auctioneering, taking coats and welcoming guests were Jim Carter, Sheila Hancock and Dame Penelope Wilton. They were joined by Annette Badland, Michael Ball, Samantha Bond, Laura Carmichael, Ben Forster, Michael Fox, Ginny Holder, Celia Imrie, Jeremy Irvine, George Layton, John Partridge, Arlene Phillips, Peter Polycarpou, Jemma Redgrave, Samantha Spiro, Neil Stuke, Owen Teale, Harriet Thorpe, Jason Watkins and Simon Williams.

On Monday 26 November, The National Youth Theatre hosted its annual fundraising gala, this year to the theme 'Puttin' on the Blitz Kidz' at Cafe de Paris, and was attended by VIP guests, past alumni and current NYT performers. The event, featuring music and theatre performances, auctions and fundraising events significantly exceeded targets, raising more than £150,000 to support The National Youth Theatre's ongoing projects.

Dawn King's Foxfinder will have its West End premiere at the Ambassadors Theatre from 6 September 2018 for a strictly limited season until 5 January 2019. Olivier Award-winner Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones' Ramsay Bolton, Misfits) will star in the unsettling and darkly comic drama directed by Rachel O'Riordan whose production of Killology at the Royal Court won the 2018 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Millions of Poldark fans were left heartbroken on Sunday evening when Heida Reed's character Elizabeth Warleggan met her untimely and tragic end in the season finale. After four series as a lead in the much-loved BBC drama, Heida Reed bowed out in a dramatic episode which saw her character Elizabeth die from a concoction taken to induce early labour. As the nation tuned in for the season four finale this week, the emotional scenes saw Poldark fans take to social media in their droves to express their dismay at the shock departure of this popular character.
