After announcing this year’s list of Carbonell Award nominations last Friday, the organization quickly realized that clarifications and additions were necessary. This invariably happens with any complicated, first-time process, so the nonprofit organization ordered a recalculation of the scores in all 20 categories.

Cygnet Theatre Announces MUD ROW By Dominique Morisseau

Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for it's upcoming production of Mud Row by Tony-nominated playwright (Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations) and MacArthur Genius recipient Dominique Morisseau. Receiving its second-ever production since it's world premiere at People's Light in 2019, this beautiful and dynamic play is directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg and runs May 18 to June 19, 2022. Opening Night for media is Saturday, May 21.
TheatreSquared Announces The Co-World Premiere Of FLEX

TheatreSquared will produce the co-world premiere of FLEX by Candrice Jones, an Arkansas native and winner of the 2020 Steinberg Playwright Award, as the final production in its Season 16 lineup. Recently workshopped at the 2021 Arkansas New Play Festival, Flex will debut in full production alongside the 2022 Festival. Performances are scheduled June 19- July 24, 2022.

The Old Globe announced today the four-member cohort for the 2022 Classical Directing Fellowship, a program of the Karen and Stuart Tanz Fellowships at The Old Globe, led by the Globe’s Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, a leading Shakespearean teacher, author, and director.

The Old Globe announced today the cast and creative team for its first production of the 2022 Season, Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress (Wedding Band: A Love/Hate Story in Black and White), which began rehearsal today. San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award winner Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (The Bluest Eye) directs this revival of the neglected modern-day classic.
