After a successful Off-Broadway run, this new and revised production documents the story of a man battling to find his place in a world full of injustice and inhumanity.

Definition of Man, which had its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2017 and recently finished an international tour returns to the LA stage this January. The one-act play had an oversold run during Hollywood Fringe and was nominated for multiple awards including Best World Premiere and won Best of Fringe in Dance & Physical Theatre, the "Ripest Show" sponsored Award from Cherry Poppins, and an Encore Producers Award. At Edinburgh, they enjoyed a successful twenty-one show run that critics called a five-star "unmissable" production (everything- theatre.co.uk) where the "quality of writing, thought and performance going into the show...is a pleasure to see" (thescotsman.com).

Writers Theatre opens its 13th annual tour of The MLK Project: The Fight for Civil Rights, written by Yolanda Androzzo, directed by Tasia A. Jones and featuring Angela Alise. A special Martin Luther King, Jr. Day public performance will take place at 10:30am on January 21 at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N Clark Street in Chicago.  The kickoff event also includes a post-show community discussion. The event is free and open to the public, and audience members will also receive free museum admission for the remainder of the day.

American Idol finalist Ada Vox will make her Los Angeles concert debut for one show only at Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood on Sunday, August 12, at 7:30pm, it was announced today by Chris Isaacson Presents. There will be special guest appearances by American Idol alums David Hernandez and Effie Passero.

In addition to ornate replica altars placed throughout the resorts and dedicated activities like catrina and sugar skull handicrafts and Mexican fiestas, several Velas Resorts will be offering special food and drinks traditionally made for the holiday. For those who can't make it down to Mexico but still want to celebrate at home, Casa Velas, an adults-only boutique hotel, is sharing its recipe for the Pan de Muertos sweet roll, while the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Maya is offering up a Tun-Tun cocktail. New Mixologist David Hernandez created the Tun-Tun specialty cocktail; its name derived from a Mexican folk song which goes "Tun-Tun la calabacita, Tun-Tun la niña bonita..." Calabacita in Spanish is the equivalent to pumpkin, the predominate flavor of this heartwarming drink.
