In the debut production from new theatre company Pint of Wine, Lauren Edwards and Katie Beudert will star as Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton in classic musical Side Show, playing at the CLF Art Cafe at the Bussey Building for selected dates in early October 2018.

Birdland Theater is proud to announce that Broadway leading ladies Jenn Colella and Chilina Kennedy will perform a song cycle written and composed by Ms. Kennedy on Monday, September 10 at 8:30pm. This one-night-only event will be presented by Eclipse Theater Company.

The South Australian premiere of this live theatrical musical arrives in Adelaide, hot on the heels of the hugely popular film The Greatest Showman, telling the true story of conjoined twins and famed entertainers Violet and Daisy Hilton as the starring act of a sideshow in the era of PT Barnum and the popularity of 'freak shows'.

A regional premiere, Side Show, by Bill Russell with music by Henry Krieger, is based on the true story of conjoined twins Violet and Daisy Hilton, who became stars during the Depression. It is a moving portrait of two women literally joined at the hip, whose extraordinary bondage brings them fame but denies them love. The show follows their progression from England to America, around the vaudeville circuit and ultimately to Hollywood on the eve of their appearance in the 1932 movie Freaks. With a completely reworked plot and new songs, the 2014 revival version delves deeper into the backstory of the Hilton twins. As the twins' forge a relationship with Harry Houdini and face potential separation surgery, the book and lyrics by Bill Russell fleshes out characters and situations that endow Henry Krieger's music with more sophistication and truth. Side Show shines a spotlight on marginalized members of society, taking center stage in their own lives and dealing with mainstream emotions of love, success, suffering - and finally - acceptance. Only heartbreak brings them back together as they move forward with their careers and lives.

???????Repeating a partnership created last year for the Theatre Memphis production of Into the Woods, students at Memphis College of Art have spent a semester this year researching and creating art that will hang in the main lobby at Theatre Memphis during the run of the musical Side Show, March 10 - April 2, 2017.

Multi-award winning Foothill Music Theatre will give Bay Area audiences their first look at the 2014 revised version of the acclaimed Broadway musical Side Show. This dazzling work, featuring music by Henry Krieger (Dreamgirls), and book/lyrics by Bill Russell (Pageant, Lucky Duck), was nominated for four 1998 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress. The 2014 revival, which incorporates a revised script and several new songs, received additional critical acclaim, was nominated for five Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Revival, and was awarded the 2015 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Musical.
