Anyone familiar with the Atlanta theatre scene knows that there is as much talent here as in nearly anywhere else in the country, and this summer, Atlanta's 30+ professional theatre companies are putting that talent to use. While there are countless other great productions going on around the city this summer, BWW Atlanta has narrowed it down to six that will surely leave Hotlanta talking well into the winter months.

Georgia Shakespeare brings Atlanta's favorite outdoor theatre tradition back to Piedmont Park this May with 'Shakespeare in the Park.' Formerly known as 'Shake at the Lake,' the event now has a new name to reflect its move in 2012 to a new location at the Legacy Fountain.

'Equus', now playing through April 21st at Actor's Express, is not a show that will appeal to everyone as it treads not so lightly on a number of rather taboo issues. That being said, if your sensibilities are not easily rattled, you will no doubt be astounded by the insight, artistry, and ability of AE's extraordinary cast, under the precision direction of David Crowe.

Spring has sprung and whether it means April showers or May flowers, one thing is certain - opportunities abound for some great theatre in Atlanta. In this, our first spring preview story we aim to highlight some of the most anticipated shows this season. From regional premiere musicals to emotional drama, there is certainly plenty to choose from for Atlanta theatre fans of all ages! Time Stands Still is the fourth and final production of Horizon's 2012 season and runs tonight, September 14 - October 14.
