This summer the Pasadena Musical Theatre Program (formerly the GATE Summer Musical Program) celebrates twenty years as one of the premiere musical theatre education programs in the Los Angeles area with 'Two Decades of Amazing,' a performance event on Sunday, July 20, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Pasadena Playhouse's Carrie Hamilton Theatre.

Joe Orrach, US Air Force Welterweight Champ turned tap dancer, was discovered by Gregory Hines and has appeared on stage and television with Joan Baez, Bob Hope, the Smothers Brothers, Michael Davis, Liliane Montevecchi, Bill Irwin, David Shiner, Melissa Manchester, and the Cookie Monster. He's appeared in Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You and in the long running Teatro ZinZanni in San Francisco. The Pasadena Playhouse is collaborating with Orrach to bring his skills and insight as a communicative performer to support the underserved in the Pasadena community. In his community workshops, Orrach focuses on how to communicate using both words and body language to share thoughts and feelings - as well as learning to read and learn about others by observing their body language and non-verbal cues. He has created exercises that improve public speaking by using the speaker's unique rhythms to best enhance personality and presence and best serve and communicate the authenticity of messages.

In honor of the legendary actress, comedian, singer and writer Carol Burnett, Center Theatre Group is hosting a special tribute to the star's late daughter Carrie Hamilton with a one-night-only reading of Burnett and Hamilton's Broadway play "Hollywood Arms," at the Mark Taper Forum on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. Inspired by Burnett's early life in Hollywood, "Hollywood Arms" will be directed by Jason Alexander and will feature a star- studded cast (to be announced).

Entershamement has a limited run of five performances, while In My Corner runs for one night only. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.

Wasatch Theatrical Ventures will present one of the great American plays of the 20th century, INHERIT THE WIND, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, directed by the award-winning Kiff Scholl, produced by Racquel Lehrman/Theatre Planners. In a small town courtroom and with the eyes of the nation upon them, two legal giants face off over a teacher's right to teach evolution to a high school class in this critically acclaimed drama based on the Scopes Monkey Trial. As rousing and relevant today as it was when it debuted in 1955, INHERIT THE WIND is an edge-of-your-seat riveting look at the age-old conflict between science and religion. The play opens Friday, February 8th and runs through March 16th at the Grove Theatre Center in Burbank, CA.

The award-winning Impro Theatre presents its critically acclaimed show Tennessee Williams UnScripted as part of South Coast Repertory's Studio SCR series, for five performances from February 27 to March 2. Directed by Impro's Associate Artistic Director Brian Lohmann, each performance of Tennessee Williams UnScripted presents a new, completely improvised play in the style of Tennessee Williams.
