GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, has announced the nominees for the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, including five Broadway shows, Billy Porter, Reneé Rapp, The Color Purple, High School Musical the Musical the Series, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, and more.

At the closing performance of SHUCKED on Broadway, Mike Bosner, a lead producer of the show took to the mic to share an 'army of thank yous' to everyone involved with the show. After bringing out he brought dressers, crew members, backstage workers and more to join in the applause the show's creative team was individually introduced as well to cheers from the cast and audience.

“Way It Goes” follows his three-week #1 hit song “Loser,” which topped the American Country Music charts. “Way It Goes” and “Loser” are both included on Mike's critically-acclaimed album Longcut, named “some of the best songwriting in Country music” (American Songwriter). “Way It Goes” was written by Phil Vassar, Andrew Peebles and Brett Sheroky. 

A few exciting data points to close out the year - the first being that Broadway audiences this past season were younger and more diverse than in seasons past. This is a bright spot in a season that saw a bumpy box office. A new study from SMU DataArts also looked at the amount of funding that went out to arts organizations during the pandemic.

Late last season a musical came to Broadway from an unusual tryout city with a marketing campaign tied to a fruit. Shucked will leave Broadway in a month, though seemingly not because of either of the oddities I just mentioned.

Serving as the official kickoff leading into C2C, the CMA Songwriters Series show on Thursday, March 7 will feature performances by Colbie Caillat, Lauren Alaina, Stephen Wilson Jr., Charlie Worsham and special guests. A fan-favorite event celebrating the festival's opening, the CMA Songwriters Series has sold out once again.

Brandy Clark debuts 'Dear Insecurity (Live From The Gorge)' featuring Brandi Carlile; watch the performance video. Clark composed the music and lyrics for the award-winning musical comedy Shucked, with her longtime collaborator, Shane McAnally. Clark is nominated for six awards at the upcoming 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

Shucked made history as the first Broadway production to perform on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week. Their performance of 'We Love Jesus' came after the first installment of Broadway in 6A. Shucked songwriter Shane McAnally also sat down with Clarkson for an interview. Cast members John Behlmann and Grey Hensen joined them. Watch the videos!

Taylor Swift has now tied with Barbra Streisand for a big record at the GRAMMYs! The two music icons are now the only female artists in history to receive six Album of the Year nominations at the GRAMMYs. Swift received six nominations for 2024, including Album of the Year for 'Midnights.' Her hit single 'Anti-Hero' for three awards.
