Dallas Children's Theater makes way for young children and their parents to laugh and learn when SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! hits the stage January 25 through February 23 at the Rosewood Center for the Arts. Based on the 70's Saturday morning cartoon which re-surfaced in the 90's to become a pop culture classic: SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE promises all that nostalgic people love and more. These iconic episodes take to the Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) stage in the form of a zany rock musical bursting with songs for all ages.

New York vocalist Kendra Shank pays tribute to her friend and mentor Abbey Lincoln (1930 - 2010) in a program of songs composed by the legendary singer, songwriter, actress, poet, civil rights activist, and NEA Jazz Master whose powerful messages of love, struggle, hope, and freedom are timeless and timely. Shank's CD A Spirit Free: Abbey Lincoln Songbook (2007, the first Lincoln songbook ever recorded) received a New York Times Critics' Choice, 4 stars in DownBeat, and numerous 'Best of the Year' awards, among other accolades.

Today, composer, arranger and jazz vocalist, Audrey Silver releases her new single 'Small Day Tomorrow.' This is the second cut to be released from the NYC based singer's newest collection, Let Me Know Your Heart. The full album will be available on September 6th. Last month, Jazziz shared Audrey's emotive take on the Peter Gabriel favorite, 'Solsbury Hill.'

The 2018-2019 Renee Fleming VOICES series continues with singer-songwriter Nellie McKay today, February 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Theater. McKay's one-night-only solo set will include songs from her recent Sister Orchid, as well as others in her catalog. Tickets for this performance are $25-$35.

The CD is dedicated to the music and life of the "Red Headed Stranger," and covers the full spectrum of Nelson's catalogue: from early hits like "Three Days" and "Blame It On The Times" to favorites from his blockbuster album of American standards like "Stardust," and eternal classics like "Crazy" and "Nightlife." Stravelli will weave in stories from Nelson's famously colorful personal life and storied 50-plus year career, while honoring and reimagining the music of one of America's greatest songwriters. She will be joined by Joshua Richman on piano, Art Hirahara on organ, Pat O'Leary on bass, Eric Halvorson on drums and Scott Robinson on saxophone and trumpet.
