Houston Grand Opera's HGOco announces auditions for the Bauer Family High School Voice Studio (HSVS) for students entering their junior or senior year of high school beginning in the fall of 2017. At the age of 77, Thomas Jefferson took a knife to the four gospels of the Bible, keeping the sections he believed were the true teachings of Jesus Christ, and leaving the miracles, angels and the resurrection behind. Living at Monticello following his two terms as President, Jefferson assembled the private text in 1820. By compiling four translations-English, French, Latin and Greek- Jefferson sought to tell a chronological and distilled version of Jesus' life and moral teachings.
