Stephen Fry writes foreword for Departure Lounge composer's new album

Independent label SimG Records is to release Dougal Irvine's debut album 'Acoustic Overtures: The Songs of Dougal Irvine' this Autumn.

Following the success of 'Christmas With …' season at the Waterloo East Theatre, and more recently the sell out 'Easter With …' season starring Caroline Sheen & Ashleigh Gray on the Barge, SimG Productions are thrilled to announce three unique and very special cabarets.

Dress Circle were delighted to welcome our very special guests Lance Horne, Lucy May Barker, Leanne Jones ( original West End Tracy from Hairspray ) Tracy , Annalene Beechey & Ross Hunter to the Dress Circle store for our American Writers event. Fans were treated to a very special performance by our guests, and then an exclusive CD signing. A fantastic day was had by all, and everyone went away happy! We would very much like to thank all of our special guests for their time and in making this another successful Dress Circle event!

Departure Lounge creator Dougal Irvine will be performing a one-off fundraising gig this Sunday at the Waterloo East Theatre to promote the work of Perfect Pitch, the organisation dedicated to creating brand-new musical theatre. Irvine will perform a selection of songs along with special guests Stuart Matthew Price, Annalene Beechey and Verity Rushworth.

This week we are taking a look at some past performances in everything from PARADE to THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW to a cut song from Disney's ALLADIN presented by the very subject of this week's SOUND OFF: All Good Things, West End leading man Stuart Matthew Price! Yesterday, BWW exclusively premiered a brand new Jason Robert Brown song, the album's title song, "All Things In Time", as well as some others from NEXT TO NORMAL and a brand new West End musical called IN TOUCH, so here is some fabulous video content to go with the astounding aural content of yore! This week, we are taking a listen to two wonderful West End-related winners featuring the stars of two witch-related West End musicals - THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK and WICKED - courtesy of SimG Records: Caroline Sheen's RAISE THE CURTAIN and Annalene Beechey's CLOSE YOUR EYES. These two delicious divas-in-training have proven that they have the talent, skill and technique to entertain us for many years to come onstage, but just how well do their first solo album efforts showcase their considerable abilities? Singing everything from Sondheim, William Finn and Stephen Schwartz to Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, David Yazbeck and Stiles & Drewe, as well as some Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman thrown in for good measure, there's surely enough to satisfy all with much more than mere morsels to enjoy.
