54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents "The Songs of Miller and Tysen" on Monday, September 15th, 2014. Shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Described as equal parts James Taylor and Stephen Sondheim, Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen's songs have been performed everywhere from East Village folk clubs, to Off-Broadway theaters, to Sesame Street. The concert will feature some of Broadway's best performers singing never-before-heard material from Tuck Everlasting, which premieres at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta this winter. The NY Times reports that Metropolitan Opera's Russian-themed opening night gala on Monday evening began with a protester criticizing the recent antigay laws signed by President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. He shouted, “Putin, end your war on Russian gays!” “Anna, your silence is killing Russian gays! Valery, your silence is killing Russian gays!”

On Sunday July 14, 2013 7:30 p.m. at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove Jason C. Tramm will lead the 59th Annual Ocean Grove Choir Festival, one of the premiere sacred music events of the Mid-Atlantic region. Over 1000 choristers, soloists and musicians will be featured in an evening of works by Ralph Vaughn Williams, Thomas Juneau, John Ness Beck, Rene Clausen, Hubert Parry, and Anton Bruckner. Featured soloists will include Monica Ziglar Soprano, Martha Bartz Mezzo-soprano, Ronald Naldi Tenor and Jeremy Galyon Bass.

The 7th Annual Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition awarded more than half a million dollars in scholarship prizes to fifteen students, coming from as far as Korea, who will be beginning their studies at the University of Kentucky this fall semester. Occurring once again at the University of Kentucky's Singletary Center for the Arts, the competition was emceed by 2011's Alltech graduate winner Julie LaDouceur and included performances from LaDouceur and 2011's undergraduate winner Andrew Miller.
