Atlanta's Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre presents the world premiere The Temple Bombing, written and directed by Jimmy Maize. A new play about the event that rocked Atlanta from Peachtree Street to Auburn Avenue, The Temple Bombing recounts the 1958 attack on The Temple, Atlanta's oldest synagogue, which bolstered local and national support for dramatic social change. The Temple Bombing will have its world premiere on the Alliance Stage from February 22 - March 12, 2017. 2017 Sundance Film Festival Awards Celebrate Global Independent Creative

After 10 days, 119 feature films and three feet of snow, an evening of humor and humanity marked the 2017 Sundance Film Festival's Awards Ceremony, with host Jessica Williams emceeing and jurors presenting 27 prizes for feature filmmaking in Park City, Utah. Honorees, named in total below, range from sharp comedies to provocative and timely documentaries and represent new achievements in global independent storytelling. Human stories prevailed across categories, with Grand Jury Prizes awarded to Dina (U.S. Documentary), Last Men in Aleppo (World Documentary), I don't feel at home in this world anymore. (U.S. Dramatic) and The Nile Hilton Incident (World Dramatic). Chasing Coral, showcased in the Festival's environmental program The New Climate, won an Audience Award in the U.S. Documentary category.

TV One to Premiere LOVE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT: THE MIKI HOWARD STORY in June

TV ONE announced today Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story will premiere on Sunday, June 12 at 7 p.m. ET (encore presentation at 9 p.m. ET). Morisseau's explanation of the Detroit riots makes a lot of sense, and resonates with my understanding of what happened last year in Baltimore. Morisseau's thesis is that the black citizens of Detroit were not crazy, just reacting to an ongoing culture of police abuse, and that abusive police and military responses were to blame for most of what went wrong once the spark of protest had been struck by the raid of an unlicensed after-hours drinking club known as a 'blind pig.'
