Due to many requests and overwhelming demand,  Michael Scott's iconic production of JOHN B. KEANE'S hilarious dramatic comedy THE MATCHMAKER starring Jon Kenny and Norma Sheahan is back at the Gaiety Theatre Dublin for three days only 8-10th June 2023! This production has been totally selling out theatres across the country with queues at the box office of many theatres and SOLD OUT notices posted on the doors of many others.

The Everyman's Summer highlight will be a world premiere of John B. Keane's Letters of a Country Postman – a humorous fictional account of the exploits of a postman in rural Ireland and a love song to the postal system and its enduring importance today.

The Everyman has announced that its summer production will be Letters of a Country Postman by one of Ireland's most loved and well-respected literary figures, John B. Keane. The play is an adaption of Keane's short novella Letters of a Country Postman first published by Mercier Press in the Celebrated Letters of John B. Keane Vol. 2 (2000).  

Stars of stage and screen Catherine Byrne and Mark Lambert will appear in a revival of one of Bernard Farrell's most famous dark comedies, Happy Birthday Dear Alice, which was commissioned by Waterford's Red Kettle Theatre Company in 1995.

A mother and her son at a crossroads—what do we do when those closest to us become violent strangers? Pretty Proud Boy explores the pressing and timely issues of the far right, the threat of COVID-19, the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement, and how these global events have affected Irish Travellers, an indigenous ethnic minority in Ireland.

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to welcome the NYC premiere of ALONE IT STANDS, written and directed by John Breen. Produced by Gyre and Gimble Productions as part of Origin's 1st Irish Festival, ALONE IT STANDS begins performances on Thursday, January 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 27. 

Buffalo's Irish Classical Theatre Company has programmed and produced a gem of a play in their most recent outing, SIVE, by John B. Keane. Such a perfect blend of expert acting and captivating story telling is playing out in a play that would seem to have been exclusively written for this company. But while SIVE is a well known commodity on the other side of the pond, it's relative obscurity in the States allowed Buffalo's audiences to be sucked into the brilliant story.

On The Quays, a New York City based production company aimed at producing works that promote inclusivity, has announced it will present the world premiere production of Gary Duggan's STOP/OVER, a swift new play about rekindled friendship, as part of the 2018 Dublin Fringe Festival. Directed by Nicola Murphy, and supported by The Arts Council of Ireland,FringeLab, and The Lir Academy, The Production will run September 12th-23rd on the third floor of The Chocolate Factory (26 Kings Inn Street).

DES KEOGH, one of Ireland's foremost actors and entertainers, stars in the hugely successful and award-winning show, The Love Hungry Farmer, at the Everyman, from Monday 5th February to Wednesday 7th February.   

At the end of 2017, the Everyman refreshed their artistic policy to better reflect the work they had been doing, and the vision for where they were headed. The theatre's 2018 programme of events, announced today, encapsulates those ideas perfectly:

The Glen Theatre Drama Group Banteer are delighted to return to the beautiful, majestic Everyman Theatre on Friday 14th July, with the hilarious comedy Second Honeymoon, written by Sam Cree and directed by Tadhg O'Keeffe.  

On May 4th, PICT Classic Theatre will conclude its 2016-2017 Season at Union Project with John B. Keane's tragic romance, SIVE.

Many Young Men of Twenty, the poignant play by the great John B. Keane, opens at the Everyman this Thursday 20th April, and runs until Saturday 29th April.
