Carla DelVillaggio Brings Streisand to The Winter Park Playhouse!

As part of a quarterly one-night-only series, The Winter Park Playhouse will present Carla DelVillaggio as the iconic Barbra Streisand in her nationally recognized tribute show - Streisand: Then and Now on Saturday March 9, 2019. Net proceeds will go to support the quality musical programming on The Playhouse Mainstage and out in the community.

Multiple award-winning Barbra Streisand tribute artist, Carla DelVillaggio, will portray the icon, in her one woman show Streisand: Then and Now and will be accompanied by the Hello Gorgeous Band. The evening will showcase all of the well known and cherished songs from the 60 year span of the legendary singer's career.

Ms. DelVillaggio has entertained across the country from Miami to Las Vegas to New York City. Carla's jaw-dropping recreation, evokes the excitement and high energy vocals of Streisand's most powerful numbers, as well as the beauty and purity of sound essential for the ballads so closely associated with the legend.

In June of 2012, Ms. DelVillaggio had the distinct honor and privilege to perform at the legendary Bon Soir nightclub in New York City. The Bon Soir is where Barbra Streisand was discovered in the early 1960's. The club was renovated and renamed The Pink Elephant and Carla was asked to be the featured act to help re-open the club.

Of that performance, Simply-Showbiz said " Ms. DelVillaggio demonstrated a spooky ability to channel the icon. At times you could swear you were seeing a hologram of the young Streisand."

Carla's early training was in Opera and she received a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from SUNY - Binghamton, New York. In addition to singing many of the great soprano roles of opera repertory, she has also done a great deal of work as an orchestra oratorio and recital soloist with a repertoire ranging from Mozart to Massenet, and Bernstein to Sondheim.

"This will be an exceptional evening of entertainment! Carla has been praised all over the nation for her uncanny ability to perform as Barbra Streisand and we are thrilled to be able to bring her show to The Playhouse. Tickets will sell extremely quickly, so book as soon as possible!" states Roy Alan, Winter Park Playhouse Artistic Director.
