In present-day Manhattan, Chilean immigrant actress Mona (Poli Olavarria) is two weeks away from the end of her student VISA. As she tries to stay employed, to get auditions, and jump through all the US immigration hoops to stay in the country she encounters Maggie (Lauryn Savela), an All-American songwriter who just can’t let things go, and Vicho (Vincent Rame) a Mexican actor and playwright who is facing the end of his OPT as well. Helped and/or hindered by Someone (Paige Hapeman), Mona tries to navigate her upcoming deadlines, a perma-intoxicated boss, a budding relationship, and the ‘endless loneliness that comes with being alive’. With expert wit and touching sincerity, this play poses the question: How must it feel like to not be wanted at the place you want the most?

Poli (she/her) arrived to the city of New York the year 2021 to study at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts after studying acting and working as an actress/ director in her own country Santiago de Chile. Some of her acting credits include Ivy in August: Osage County, Boochie in Den of Thieves, Frankie in Frankie & Johnny in the Claire de Lune, and Nina in the first play she wrote DANSE MACABRE or The Danse of Two Lovers About to Die. She is very happy to FINALLY being able to act and co-produce with her best friend Lauryn, and is insanely grateful to everyone else in the team for taking a chance and forming part of this meaningful project (special shoutout to her friends who helped with the first draft of this Someone ExtraordinariX). She also dedicates her work to her cat Mila. Because her life is for her. Poli also did not want to do a bio, so any more questions about her personal life can be answered by buying her a drink. Muchas gracias y mierda mierda mierda.
