“Mandela” enacts the untold story that examines the involvement of the CIA in the arrest of Nelson Mandela. Unlike other portrayals of Nelson Mandela this off-Broadway play dares not to sanitize the experiences of Mandela, his wife Winnie and the ANC. “Mandela” also pushes the envelope by cleverly enacting how the U.S. and South Africa mirrored each other as protesting Blacks from both countries suffered similar injustices while fighting against apartheid.
