Children, Teens, Adult Actors Wanted as Supernumeraries in

Verismo Opera’s Cavalleria Rusticana

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera) under Artistic Director/Met Opera luminary Lucine Amara has several opportunities for children, teenagers, and adults to perform important non-singing, non-speaking acting roles as supernumeraries (supers), similar to extra roles in a movie. Supers are needed to appear in the company’s upcoming new dramatic production of Cavalleria Rusticana, a double bill with Suor Angelica, on October 20 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey.

The organization is seeking actors of all ages to assume various roles as villagers. Girls are especially needed to appear in the procession. No prior stage experience is required.

Supernumeraries will work closely with the production’s director, Giovanni Simone. The opera will be fully staged and performed with a full cast in costume accompanied by an orchestra under the baton of internationally renowned Principal Conductor/Music Director, Anthony Morss. The Verismo Opera Chorus will perform under Chorus Director Mara Waldman. For information about supernumerary roles available, call
