Casting the following roles (by appointment).
ROSA GARRAFFA: Understudy/Ensemble. Age 25-28, Slim/average, 5'4-5'7. Very long (middle of the back) natural dark hair, brown or hazel eyes. The character is a New York City-born daughter of Sicilian immigrants. The applicant must be able to roll Rs, and experience with conversational Italian would be extremely helpful. Vocals: Strong low-to-mid-range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music desired.
BARBARA GOLDMAN: Lead. Age: 18-23. Slim, 5'4 - 5'7. Very long (middle of the back) light blond hair, blue eyes. Vocals: Strong mid-to-high range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music desired. Dancing proficiency desired. Applicant must closely match the physical description of the character as stated.
MATT VOLPE: Lead. Age: 25-31. 5'7-6'1. The character is a muscular, macho, rugged athletic, wise-guy-type. He's a Neapolitan Brooklyn guy complete with swagger/attitude and heavy Brooklyn accent. He also happens to be an Assistant District Attorney, so he also has a certain amount of professional demeanor. The character recites some lines in the Neapolitan Dialect, therefore, a rudimentary knowledge of Italian would be helpful. Vocals: Strong mid-to-high range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music is desired. Dancing proficiency.
MAFALDA ‘MUFFY’ CICCIONA: Supporting. Age: 40-45. 5'2 -5'7. Average, curvy. The character has a thick Italian/broken English accent and provides comic relief in the show. Applicant must be able to recite words and phrases in Sicilian, therefore, a rudimentary knowledge of Italian would be helpful. Vocals: Strong low-to-mid range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music is desired.
ZIO VITO: Supporting. Age 42-48, Average build, 5'6-5'10. The character immigrated from Sicily to New York's Little Italy and speaks with a slight Italian/broken English accent. He also recites some lines in Sicilian, therefore, some knowledge of the Sicilian or Italian languages would be extremely helpful. Vocals: Strong low to mid-range with a strong vibrato.
YOUNGER DANTE: Supporting. Slim, 19-23, 5'6-5'9, Macho, medium-length dark hair. Vocals: Strong low-to-mid-range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music desired. The character is the younger version of a Sicilian immigrant.
ALICIA GOLDMAN: Supporting. Age: 42-48. Slim to average, extremely Youthful and attractive with below-the-shoulder blond hair. Jewish mom-type. Vocals: Strong mid-to-high range with a strong vibrato.
BENJAMIN GOLDMAN: Supporting. Average. Age 48-55 (youthful), 5'8-5'10”. Vocals: Strong low to mid-range with a strong vibrato.
TONY MANCUSO: Supporting. Age: 23-30, 5'7-6'1, athletic build, macho, Italian-American, edgy, brash, wise guy-type. Vocals: Strong mid-to-high range with a strong vibrato. Ability to read music desired.
MORRIS FRY: Supporting. Age 48-55 (youthful), average, 5'7-5'10”. The character is a rabbi. Vocals: Strong low-to-mid-range with a strong vibrato.
NOTE 1: Executive Producer prefers applicants living in New Jersey, but New York-based actors will be considered.
