FINAL AUDITIONS FOR THE 5TH NEW JERSEY RUN OF THE PERRY AWARD-NOMINATED ORIGINAL MUSICAL:

“They Call It Gravy; WE Call it SAUCE”

Sunday, June 23rd, Middletown Arts Center, Middletown, New Jersey.

Storyline: First-generation, New York-born Rosa Garraffa, discovers she’s pregnant by her Jewish fiancé. Her traditional Sicilian father disowns and banishes her. Twenty years later, Rosa’s Jewish-raised daughter, Barbara, along with her Brooklyn-born Neapolitan boyfriend, Matt, step into the picture and attempt to reunite the broken family.

CASTING THE FOLLOWING FEMALE LEAD SINGING ROLE:

Character Name: Barbara Goldman

Character Breakdown: Female. Caucasian. Age 20-24. Slim/athletic/toned. 5'2 - 5'6. Natural (or willing to color) light-blond long hair (reaching almost to the middle of the back). Blue or green eyes. Singing experience required (mezzo-soprano). Dancing experience desired. The ability to read music is desired. The character was born and raised in Connecticut. She has no discernible regional accent, however, her look resembles a typical Swede.

Applicants must be at least 20 years of age.

Notes: The producer prefers New Jersey residents; however, if a New York-based actor is ultimately selected for this role, round-trip train transportation will be paid from Manhattan to the New Jersey venues for rehearsals & performances.
