Thank You For Being a Friend, the ultimate Golden Girls experience, is a delightful comedy delivering classic dialogue, razor sharp gags and taboo-breaking stories inspired by TV's The Golden Girls - all performed ala "Avenue Q", with live actors manipulating puppets - but it's NOT a puppet show!
We are looking for actors who can embody the spirit of the great actors who played the original roles on television.
We are NOT looking for "impressions", but an appreciation for the rhythms and inflections of the original television cast is required.
You don't have to be an experienced puppeteer to audition.
Puppet elements will be taught during rehearsals by one of Toronto's leading puppet masters.
Roles Available:
Dorothy: Male, any age (over 30 preferred), actor/puppet
Blanche: Female, any age (over 30 preferred) actor/puppet
Rose: Female, any age (over 30 preferred) actor/puppet
Sophia: Female, any age (over 30 preferred) actor/puppet
Jeremiah/Emilio: Male, 20's to late 30's - non puppet role - (must be able to do convincing "latin" accent)

Rehearsals are from July 11 - July 28, Performances run from July 29 - Sept 24.
