THINK TWICE

Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks, located at 221 W. Parker Road, Suite 580 in Plano, at the northwest corner of 75 and Parker Rd. in the Ruisseau Village Shopping Center.
Brief Synopsis:
A seemingly altruistic man uses his brilliant ideas to gain power and control over everyone in his life, giving all of them compelling motives for his murder. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to “think twice” when deciding who you think did it!
Roles: 9 men, 2 women, 1 teenaged boy
(some roles may be gender flexible)
Walter Breckenridge (50) A stately, grey haired man- behaves like a saint, but a very human one. He is a prominent physicist who has decided to share his latest invention- a new way to generate energy- with the world for free. We meet him on his 50th birthday.
Curtiss (40-70) The butler. An older gentleman with impeccable manners.
Serge Sookin (25-35) A Russian immigrant and fervent idealist, he has worked with Walter on the energy project. Poor but neat, and very dedicated to his cause. Either a dedicated scientist or a radical- or both?
Harvey Fleming (40-55) Tall, gaunt, and unkempt, a guest of Walter’s who is never quite sober. He is very close to being a broken man. Brilliant, but not successful.
Tony Goddard (20-30) Young and high strung, but does his best to conceal it. Tony has the hands of a great surgeon, and his benefactor, Mr. Breckenridge is his benefactor, seeing that he becomes one. Tony’s true passion, however, is piano.
Steve Ingalls (35-50) Steve has a hard face- he looks like he should be a man of great energy and drive but moves with a lazy indifference. His manner hides a cunning determination and passion.
Billy Breckenridge (about 15) Bill is pale and quiet- a young man trapped in a wheelchair and trapped by the realities of his condition. He is not ready to accept the life of an invalid.
Flash Kozinsky (18-25) Young, pleasant looking. Flash has “football hero” written all over him, and is a good hearted young man, although not particularly bright.
Adrienne Knowland (25-30) Beautiful but hard. She is an actress, but not a soft, floating one. She projects a tense, restless energy and does not worry overly about her beauty or being delicate. She plays all of the ingénues but longs for something more.
Helen Breckenridge (30-45) Blonde and exquisitely groomed, more than necessarily beautiful- she is very attractive nonetheless, and carries herself with poise. The perfect wife and lady of the house, though she does not necessarily find joy and fulfillment in that role.
Gregory Hastings (35-50) Distinguished and self-possessed, he is the district attorney who has never had an unsolved murder. An intelligent man, and more importantly- a thinking one.
Dixon (20-35) An energetic, efficient young detective. He does all of Mr. Hastings’ running around to find clues and proof.

- Please prepare a one-minute, memorized monologue that shows your range well.
- Be prepared to read scenes from the script.
- Please bring a resume and head shot.
- References may be required.
- Actors and technicians will receive stipends.
- Rehearsals will be in Plano and will begin on or around the week of September 11, 2016.
