Casting Call for MTA’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

Audition Preparation Workshops Available

Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) announces auditions for Dwayne Hartford’s adaptation of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, a theatrical play with music for ages 11-adult (no-cut for ages 11-19) directed by Laura O’Meara.

A Newberry-winning novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is author Katie DiCamillo’s heart-warming story about a China rabbit named Edward Tulane who was given to a ten-year-old girl named Abilene by her grandmother in the 1930s. Esward enjoys a pleasant but vain life until an unfortunate incident finds him falling overboard the RMS Queen Mary. He spends 297 days on the ocean floor, until a storm frees him and a passing fisherman and his buddy pull him free. After being passed from hand to hand of a succession of life-altering character, Edward's journeys not only take him far from home, but even farther from the selfish rabbit he once was. If you have no intention of loving or being loved, then the whole journey is pointless.
