Auditions for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack NY will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Peter Garruba. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a fast paced adventure exploring the passionate desire for truth as experienced by the complicated mind of an autistic boy.

AUDITIONS: Monday, October 14 at 7:00pm and Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00pm

CALLBACKS: Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00pm (by invitation only)

PERFORMANCES: Friday, January 17 thru Saturday, February 8 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with possible Wednesday and Thursdays)

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
A 15 year old autistic boy discovers the slain body of his neighbors dog and sets out to find the murderer. His investigation is at times aided, and at other times hampered, by the mild form of autism he lives with.

CAST REQUIREMENTS: (2 Males, 2 Females, 6 Ensemble roles, British accent required.)
Christopher (Male, 15 to Young looking 20 year old) Mildly autistic, very literal
Siobhan (Female, 30-50) Christopher's teacher
Ed (Male, 30s-40s) Christopher's father
Judy (Female, 30s-40s) Christopher's mother
Mrs. Shears/Voice 1 and others (Female, 30s-40s) Christopher's neighbor
Roger Shears/Voice 2 and others (Male, 30s-40s) Christopher's former neighbor
Policeman/ Voice 3 and others (Male, 30s-50s)
Reverend Peters/Voice 4 and others (Male, 55+)
Number 40/Voice 5 and others (Female, 20s-30s)
Mrs. Alexander/Voice 6 and others (Female, Elderly)
