Auditions Arrive for Shakespeare in the Park’s 2017 Season

Two classics and a Spanish-language twist will take the stage this summer

Speak the speech, I pray you, as I pronounc'd it to you, trippingly on the tongue of any actor who wishes to take the stage in one of Shakespeare Dallas’ upcoming productions. Auditions for the 2017 summer and fall season will be held Saturday, January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd. This season, Shakespeare’s classics The Merry Wives of Windsor and Titus Andronicus take the stage, as well as Quixote, Octavio Solis’ adaptation of Miguel Cervantes’ Don Quixote.

The Merry Wives of Windsor will be directed by Executive and Artistic Director Raphael Parry, Titus Andronicus will be directed by Artistic Associate René Moreno, and Quixote will be directed by guest director Gustavo Tambascio from Madrid, Spain. For Quixote, singers and Spanish-speakers are encouraged to audition, but neither is required for casting.

Auditions will be held Saturday, January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd. Actors must set up an appointment with the Shakespeare Dallas team to secure an audition. All interested candidates can email
Shakespeare Dallas at
audition@shakespearedallas.org or call 214-559-2778 starting January 2nd. Auditioners should bring three copies of current headshots and resumes, and must be prepared to perform a classical monologue up to 1 ½ minutes in length. Singers should prepare 16 bars to sing acapella. Auditions will be held from 11:00am-5:00pm on both days.
