POP!, THE WILD PARTY & 'NIGHT, MOTHER - Firehouse Theatre Project

AUDITIONS for POP! (Who Shot Andy Warhol?) and THE WILD PARTY. Mark your calendars, auditions for our next two musicals will take place Sunday May 5th at Firehouse Theatre Project. Call-backs will take place on Monday May 6th. Rehearsals for POP! will begin in June and performances will run July 12th - August 10th, 2013. Rehearsals for THE WILD PARTY will begin in mid-October and performances will run Nov 21st - December 28th, 2013.

Character Breakdown:

POP! (Who Shot Andy Warhol?)

Book & Lyrics by Maggie-Kate Coleman, Music by Anna K. Jacobs

ANDY: Pop artist, icon (the victim).

CANDY: A beautiful, pre-op transsexual. She models herself after starlets of the 1940s (the host).

EDIE: Warhol Superstar. Old-money socialite, fashion-Icon, sort-of actress, drug addict (suspect).

VIVA: Warhol Superstar. Former Catholic school girl, sometime actress, the intellectual (suspect).

VALERIE: The outsider. Militant, feminist, highly intelligent but unhinged (suspect).

GERARD: Andy's assistant. A poet, handsome and responsible for much of Andy's artwork (detective).

ONDINE: Speed freak. Top of the social hierarchy in the Factory, opera devotee (detective).

THE WILD PARTY

BLACK: Strong. Handsome. Protective. Non-nonsense kind of guy.

DOLORES: A party-goer pitching ideas and hoping to score with Sam.

EDDIE: Mae's husband. Nice but has a quick temper.

JACKIE: Slim. Elegant. Dancer. Has no tongue.

KATE: A lush. Likes to be the "life of the party". Brings Black to the party but wants to bed Burrs.

MADELAINE TRUE: Sexually hungry. Tired. Blunt.

MAE: Eddie's wife. Sweet. Dotes on her husband.

NADINE: The only minor at the party

OSCAR D' ARMANO: Phil's brother and lover. An entertainer in every sense of the word.

PHIL D' ARMANO: Oscar's brother and lover. An entertainer in every sense of the word.

SAM: Busy producer.

THE NEIGHBOR: Annoyed at the amount of noise continually coming from Burrs and Queenie's apartment.

Actors will be asked to sing a brief song (please bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided.). Auditions will take place at Firehouse Theatre, 1609 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220. Auditions are by appointment only.

AUDITIONS for Marsha Norman's 'night, Mother directed by David Emerson Toney. Auditions will take place Monday, May 13th at Firehouse Theatre Project. Call-backs will take place on Tuesday, May 14th. Rehearsals for 'night, Mother will begin in mid-August and performances will run September 19th - October 19th, 2013.

(The role of THELMA has been precast)

JESSIE: A divorced woman who lives with her widowed mother. She is an epileptic who has experienced seizures most of her life. Nothing in life has worked out for this woman, including raising a grown son who turned out to be a disappointment. She has suffered with severe extended depression that has never been treated.

Actors will be asked to present two contrasting contemporary monologues no longer than 5 minutes in combined length. Auditions will take place at Firehouse Theatre, 1609 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220. Auditions are by appointment only.
