Once On This Island is a rousing calypso-flavored tale of one small peasant girl ( TiMoune) who finds love in a world of prejudice. this musical is based on the 1985 novel titled My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy. The peasants live on one side of the Island and the Grand Hommes, mixed race descendants of the original French planters and heir slaves, live on the other side. There's elements of Romeo And Juliet, West Side Story, and The Little Mermaid. Once On This Island is filled with Love, determination, intrigue, and the wonderment of life.
