NTPA ACE and Jr. ACE Auditions and Critiques
The Acting Company for Excellence is an elite group of students who have met the rigorous standards established for admittance by the Directors of North Texas Performing Arts. These students are committed to leadership, service, and embodying the Ten Character Traits of NTPA. This company’s primary goal is to distinguish and celebrate those students who demonstrate a desire for excellence, both on stage and off. ACE members will lead through mentoring, hone the craft of performing arts, improve communication skills, and develop countless other assets beneficial to a career in the arts. Company members will be selected based on their level of experience, preparation (via audition and interview), and maturity both on and off the stage.

ACE AUDITIONS: January 10, 5-9 PM - FAIRVIEW YOUTH THEATRE
JACE AUDITIONS/CRITIQUES: January 11, 10 AM- 2 PM - NTPA FRISCO
ACE CRITIQUES: January 12, 4-9 PM - FAIRVIEW YOUTH THEATRE
Academy ACE/JACE Critiques Only: January 13th, 12-2 PM - NTPA PLANO, WILLOW BEND
New Member Audition and Acceptance Process
ACTORS AUDITIONING FOR ACES FOR THE FIRST TIME MUST COMPLETE THIS FORM
- Audition (Guidelines below)
- Application, located here: https://forms.gle/b1PwnzAyZC7TsdZr6
- Two References – one artistic and one academic or professional (located on ACE Application).
- Answer a series of interview questions by panel of directors.
- Pay annual dues ($99)
Musical Students:
- Prepare 2 Musical Theatre Cuttings (16-32 bars) of Contrasting Styles
- ACES: Provide sheet music in appropriate key for live accompaniment
- JR: ACES: Provide track in appropriate key for live accompaniment
- Prepare 1 Monologue, Dramatic or Comedic, from any play, Classic or Contemporary
TOTAL AUDITION TIME: 4 minutes
Non-Musical Students:
- Prepare 2 monologues of Contrasting Styles from professionally accepted literature:
- 1 Classical – Must be written in poetry or verse, Dramatic or Comedic, from any play written before 1940.
- 1 Contemporary – Dramatic or Comedic, both from any play written after 1940.
- Prepare 1 Musical Theatre Cuttings (16-32 bars) of Contrasting Styles
- ACES: Provide sheet music in appropriate key for live accompaniment
- JR: ACES: Provide track in appropriate key for live accompaniment
TOTAL AUDITION TIME: 4 minutes
ACE Members Annual Critique
ACES/JACES COMPLETING A CRITIQUE MUST FILL OUT THIS FORM
Musical Students:
