The White Plains Performing Arts Center is seeking both AEA & non-union performers for the Masquerade.Seeking A multi-ethnic cast who are fantastic singers & actors who move well for this NY Premiere! All performers must be exceptional singers who can sing the Andrew Llyod Webber Catalog with both contemporary and Classic MT vocal techniques. All of ALW’s leading roles come together in this new production.

Please note there is NO housing for this production. Theatre is located 35 min from NYC via train or car.

SYNOPSIS

One of the most successful musical theater composers of all time takes audiences behind the scenes in Masquerade! This NY premiere features stories and songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s remarkable life and celebrated work. A funny and warm musical portrait and a concert for the theater, offers an intimate look at Lloyd Webber’s five decades in the spotlight and beyond, from his quirky family and bohemian youth in London to the creation of such smash hits as Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard and many more. You’ll hear new and sometimes unexpected interpretations of his best-loved songs and rediscovered gems. *Presented in Special Arrangement with The Really Useful Group LTD

IMPORTANT DATES

1st Rehearsal: September 20th (rehearses in NYC 10am-6pm)

Tech: Oct 2nd -7th (in White Plains)

Shows: October 8-24 (Thursday-Sunday shows)

Please submit any and all conflicts when submitting. You must be available for all shows and tech week to audition.

Rehearsals will begin in NYC then transfer to the venue for tech week. Rehearsals are within the 10am-6pm range. Tech week will switch to late afternoon/evenings. Please bring any and all conflicts to the auditions and note that the rehearsals times may vary.

CONTRACT

LORT-LOA Contract

**Total of 4 performance/week

$476/week for AEA actors + Pension/ health

Non union: $1,200-$1,400 based on role + EMC Points

Casting Breakdown:

*As this is a work is in development, tracks and songs etc may change.

WOMAN 1 Legit soprano to high E (20's - mid 30's)
WOMAN 2 High belter to Db (late 30's - early 50's)
WOMAN 3 Contemporary soprano with solid mix (20' to 30’s)
WOMAN 4 High belter (25 to 40)

MAN 1 Contemporary tenor to Bb (20's - 30's)

MAN 2 Legit tenor to Bb (with contemporary abilities) (20's - 30's)

MAN 3 Legit rich Bari/tenor to Bb (30's- 40's)

MAN 4 Contemporary High Baritone (comic skills a plus) (20's - 30's)

CALLBACKS (Invitation only)

You will be notified via email after ALL auditions have completed if you have been asked for a callback.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

VIDEOS ARE DUE BY AUGUST 27th.

-Please prepare no more than a one-minute cut of a song by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Make sure the song shows vocal range and style showing both contemporary vocal styles and legit MT if possible.

We have provided a few options with accompaniment you can use should you want to, but are happy to hear anything from his catalog that you are familiar with using your own accompaniment.

1. Videos must be uploaded to (youtube, vimeo etc) and sent as a link. Please No password protected videos etc.

2. Include Headshot and Resume (In one file not separate files)

3. Record in landscape format. Smaller file size preferred.

4. In your recording, slate your name

5. Make sure we see as much of you as possible with as little movement from the camera as possible.

6. Accompaniment should be played on a separate device and be sure there is no editing, effects etc to your vocal recording.
