AUDITIONS: MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS
JULY 17TH THROUGH JULY 19TH
Tacoma Little Theatre is holding auditions for the local premiere of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, adapted by Ken Ludwig. The production will be directed by Melanie Gladstone.
Auditions will be held Sunday, July 17th and Monday, July 18th at Tacoma Little Theatre (210 N I Street, Tacoma WA 98403) and on July 19th at STAR Center (3873 S 66th St, Tacoma, WA 98409). Audition appointments will be set starting at 6:00pm on Sunday and 7:00pm on Monday & Tuesday in five-minute increments. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at Tacoma Little Theatre. All actors must schedule their appointment using Casting Manager at the link below. TLT requires that all actors provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Board the exotic and mysterious Orient Express as it takes off into the opulence and grandeur of the 1930s. Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of year, but by the morning, it is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer – in case they decide to strike again. Join Poirot as he battles the clock to figure out “whodunit” in this sleek, stylish, and surprisingly comedic murder mystery.
All roles are available: Hercule Poirot (Male, 40-65), Monsieur Bouc (Male, 40-55), Mary Debenham (Female, 25-30), Hector Macqueen (Male, 26-35), Michel the Conductor/Head Waiter (Male, 35-45), Princess Dragomiroff (Female, 60-80), Greta Ohlsson (Female, 20-40), Countess Andrenyi (Female, 20-40), Helen Hubbard (Female, 45-60), Colonel Arbuthnot/Samuel Ratchett (Male, 35-60). Ages given are playable ages, actors need not specifically fit the given age to audition. Tacoma Little Theatre practices color-conscious casting and encourages everyone to attend.
Auditioners are asked to prepare one comedic or dramatic monologue, no longer than 90 seconds.

Once cast, Murder on the Orient Express will begin rehearsals on September 6, 2022 with the production running from Friday, October 21, 2022 to Sunday, November 6, 2022.
