Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for M*A*S*H, a comedy by Tim Kelly adapted from the book by Richard Hooker, on Monday and Tuesday, December 12 and 13, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the playhouse,
11150 Southeastern Avenue. Director Melissa DeVito is looking for a diverse group of 14 men and 13 women for the stage version of the Oscar-winning movie that became the best TV comedy series in history. All roles are available.
AUDITION PREPARATION
- Please be prepared to read from the script.
- M*A*S*H is scheduled for six performances, weekends March 31-April 9, 2017. Please bring a list of all conflicts from January through early April 2017.

In M*A*S*H, the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital is shaken up by the arrival of Captains Hawkeye Pierce and Duke Forrest...expert surgeons, but lousy soldiers. Joined by renowned chest-cutter Trapper John McIntyre, the surgeons set about dealing with the daily carnage of the war by raising hell.

Male, 50s. The overseer of the M*A*S*H compounds in Korea. Tough, cigar-smoking General sterotype.
PVT. BOONE
Early 20s. Young and klutzy.
LT. COLONEL HENRY BRAYMORE BLAKE
Male, 40s. The commander of the 4077th. A sweet man who loves fishing and football. A good doctor, but not a good leader. Without Radar he would be lost.

CAPTAIN BRIDGET McCARTHY
Female, 20s to 30s. Head of the nurses until Major Houlihan arrives. Older, and has been involved in the war for too long.
LT. JANICE FURY
Female, 20s to 30s. A young nurse recently assigned to the 4077th. Energetic and well-liked.
SGT. DEVINE
Male, 30 to 50. The cook.
LT. LOUISE KIMBLE
Female, 20s to 30s. The fun and bubbly nurse who is always laughing.
CAPTAIN FRANK BURNS
Male, 30s. Also known as Ferret Face, he is a poor surgeon, and an even poorer human being.
FATHER JOHN PATRICK MULCAHY
Male, 40s to 50s. Kind, sweet and quiet priest. An island of calm in a torrential storm.
CAPTAIN WALTER WALT WALDOWSKI
Male, 30s. The unit's dentist, he uses his tent as a gambling hall. He has a history of depression.
CAPTAIN JOHN McINTYRE (TRAPPER JOHN)
Male, 30s. He is a ladies’ man, or at least that's what he thinks . He is at the 4077th before Hawkeye and Duke, and knows the ropes. A likeable, good-looking guy.
CAPTAIN JOHN BLACK (UGLY)
Male, 30s. Good-looking doctor. One of the boys.
CORPORAL RADAR REILLY
Male, 20s. A young farm boy that quietly makes the unit run. He has poor sight, but he makes up for it by having acute hearing. He knows what’s going to happen before you do.
CAPTAIN BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PIERCE (HAWKEYE)
Male, 30s. A teenage boy in a man's body. One of the best surgeons, and knows it. A leader and a troublemaker, but not a soldier.
CAPTAIN AUGUSTUS BEDFORD FORREST (DUKE)
Male, 30s. Hawkeye's sidekick. A skilled surgeon, but acts like a little boy at times.
HO-JON
Male, late teens. The Swamps houseboy. The entire compound loves and takes care of Ho-Jon. He is an intelligent young man who gets drafted by the South Korean Army.
PVT. LOPEZ
Female, 20s. One of the nurses who make the unit run.
LT. NANCY PHILLIPS
Female, 20s to 30s. Another 4077th nurse.
MAJOR MARGARET HOTLIPS HOULIHAN
Female, 30s. Regular by-the-book army nurse. She has risen up in the ranks in this man’s army and is not afraid of a fight. However, inside she is insecure.
CONGRESSWOMAN GOLDFARB / KOREAN WOMAN 1
Female, 30s to 50s. A United States Senator that comes to evaluate that 4077. Doubles as Korean Woman 1.
DEAN MERCY LODGE / KOREAN WOMAN 2
Female, 30s to 50s. Dean of Hawkeye's old medical school. Doubles as Korean Woman 2.
MISS RANDAZZLE
Female, 20s. Air-head secretary of Draft Lodge.
MITZI, FITZI, AND AGNES / KOREAN WOMEN
Female, 20s. Trio of young entertainers. Not too bright or good at what they do. Double as Korean Women.
LT. CONNIE LIEBOWITZ
Female, 20s to 30s. A dietician in Soul.
CAPTAIN OLIVER WENDELL JONES (SPEARCHUCKER)
Male, 30s. A pro-football player that happens to be a neuro-surgeon who was drafted into the war.
MAJOR RUTH HASKELL
Female, 30s to 60s. A therapist called to evaluate Hawkeye’s mental state.
