RIVERSIDE CENTER DINNER THEATER ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR LES MISÉRABLES & THE FULL MONTY

TBA Rehearsals run Sunday through Wednesday nights, 6:30-11pm and will begin end of Jan. Performances will run Mar 15, 2013- April 28, 2013.

For auditions, please prepare 32 bars of a Broadway contemporary/pop style song. You are encouraged to sing from the shows. Please bring a headshot, or recent photograph, and a resume. Auditions will be seen in the order in which you sign up, so please do not contact Riverside for an audition time.

The performance schedule is as follows: Wednesday matinees at 1:30pm; Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8pm Sunday matinees at 3pm If you are unable to attend auditions, you are encouraged to submit a photo, resume, and video submission to productionmanager@riversidedt.com. FULL MONTY CAST BREAKDOWN *Jerry Lukowski - Nice looking, unemployed steel mill worker. 28-40. Complex, emotional and tender with plenty of heart and charisma. A regular guy. He drives the show. Strong actor. Very strong singer with a controlled falsetto. (Pop/rock tenor). Pam Lukowski - Jerry’s estranged wife. 28-40. Strong actor/singer(mezzo belt). Grounded and a realist. An intuitive and connected performer. Nathan Lukowski - Jerry’s young son. 10-12. A sincere, charming and genuine young actor. 12 years old going on 40. *Dave Bukatinsky – unemployed steel worker. 30-42. Jerry’s best friend. Notably over weight relative to the other guys. A lovable, good-natured soul with body weight and self-esteem issues. Ton’s of heart. Strong actor/singer. (tenor with a strong falsetto). Georgie Bukatinsky – Dave’s wife. 30-42. She is a warm, down-to-earth soul that isn’t afraid to kick up her heels. Has an exuberant quality. Strong actor/singer(high mezzo belt). *Malcolm MacGregor – security guard at the steel mill. 25-40. A bit down on himself, lonely but very sweet and sincere. He lives with his mother. Strong actor/ singer. (tenor with smooth falsetto). *Ethan Girard - unemployed steel worker. 25-40. Not certain of what he wants. He is an optimist while struggling with unemployment and friendship issues. Longs to dance like Donald O’Connor in Singing In The Rain. Strong actor/singer. (bari-tenor). *Noah “Horse” Simmons - retired African American steel mill worker. 40-60. Strong actor/singer(baritone/tenor). Excellent mover with great comic sense. Does the big showstopper, “Big Black Man”. *Harold Nichols - unemployed mill supervisor. 35-50. Middle class aspirant, who hides his unemployment from his materialistic wife. Strong actor/singer(bari-tenor). Vicki Nichols - Harold’s wife. 32-50. Charming and energetic, classy but one of the girls she loves Prada but not more than Harold. Flamboyant on the surface but her love and understanding are real. Strong actor/singer with great comic timing. (high mezzo belt). Jeannette Burmeister - cast, Sally Struthers Ensemble of 5-8 actor/singers to play various supporting and cameo roles. 25-60 Teddy Slaughter - Pam’s live-in boyfriend Molly MacGregor - Malcom’s ailing mom *Buddy “Keno” Walsh – handsome, confident male stripper Reg Willoughby – unemployed mill worker Tony Giordano – Buffalo club owner Estelle Genovese - Jerry’s occasional girl friend Susan Hershey - a friend of Pam and Georgie’s Joanie Lish - another friend of Pam and Georgie’s *Monty Men and Keno: if you are auditioning for these roles you need to be very comfortable with your body: enough to perform on stage in your underwear and eventually a g-string. Trust is the key for this production and you will be taken care of respectfully and our final moment will be powerful, yet careful. You will not be asked to take your clothes off for your audition.

Les Misérable Breakdown: JEAN VALJEAN - Dynamic Tenor (low A to high B). Strong actor. Ages from mid 30’s to early 50’s. Strong physical presence. Exudes strength, determination, survival and compassion. High moral character. JAVERT - Baritone with strong low’s (low F to F sharp). Strong actor. Ages mid 30’s to early 50’s. Commanding presence. Self-righteous, rigid and stern. Relentless in his pursuit of what he thinks is right. FANTINE - Thrilling Mezzo-Soprano belt (low G flat to E flat). 25-35. Poor, frail, honest working class girl who embodies hope and survival. COSETTE - Pure Soprano/mix belt (B flat below mid C to High C). 18-25. Beautiful, innocent and pure. MARIUS - Lyric Baritone with strong low’s (low A to high A flat). 20-30s. Good looking, young leading man. Determined, intelligent romantic hero. EPONINE - Dynamic Mezzo belt (low F sharp to E). 20’s. Waif-like, urchin, child of the streets. Bit of a tom-boy with a romantic heart. ENJORLAS - High Baritone (low A to high G). 20-30. Imposing physical presence. Intelligent, charismatic leader. THENARDIER - Baritone (C to high G flat). 35 – 50’s Strong comedic actor who masks a darker side. Raw, gritty, larger than life. MADAME THENARDIER - Mezzo belt (low G sharp to D). 35- 50’s. Hard-edged comedic actress. Strong-willed, unkempt survivor. GAVOROCHE - Young bari/tenor. 10-12. Street urchin with lots of heart and soul. He is fierce and brave. YOUNG COSETTE - Young, pure soprano. (sings Castle On A Cloud). 8-10. Sweet, innocent child, wide-eyed yet inquisitive. YOUNG EPONINE - Young daughter of the Thenardier’s. 8-10. Spoiled and fawned over by her parents. ENSEMBLE OF MEN AND WOMEN: 20’s to 50’s Must all be strong singers as well as actors to play multiple featured roles. Must have the ability to play contrasting characters. Most of the men will become students at the ABC café. Looking for a dynamic broadway legit contemporary sound with a pop sensibility. *You are encouraged to sing something from the show or a song that best approximates the show’s style.
