South Bend Civic Theatre announces auditions for Les Misérables May 5-7!

South Bend Civic Theatre will hold auditions for the celebrated musical Les Misérables May 5-7, with callbacks scheduled for May 9, 11-14. Breakdowns for auditions are as follows:

  • Sun May 5 2-6pm at the 1st United Methodist Church Kids 9-12 years of age
  • Mon May 6 at the Scottish Rite Building 6-10pm all women
  • Tues May 7 at the Scottish Rite Building 6-10pm all men

Callback breakdowns:

  • Thurs May 9 6-10pm Scottish Rite Building
  • Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 2-6pm 1st United Methodist Church
  • Monday May 13 and Tuesday May 14 6-10pm Scottish Rite Building

Actors auditioning do not need to have a song prepared as auditions will consist of selections sung from the show.

Written by the musical team of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, with English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, the American production of Les Misérables premiered in 1987 on Broadway, winning eight Tony awards and popular acclaim. Songs such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Master of the House,” “One Day More,” “On My Own,” and “Bring Him Home,” have entered the musical theatre canon as legendary standards for actors and vocalists alike. The all-star film version of 2012 won multiple awards and brought new audiences to this landmark musical.

irectors attempt to schedule rehearsals around individual conflicts as best they can. SBCT welcomes and encourages actors of all experience levels, from novices eager to get the acting bug to seasoned veterans, to their auditions. SBCT is also committed to reflecting the diversity of the community and encourages and welcomes actors of all backgrounds to audition.

South Bend Civic Theatre’s production of Les Misérables will be directed by David Case with auditions to take place in early May. More information on auditions will follow in the coming months.
