· Auditions will be held at Artisan Center Theater located at 444 East Pipeline Road, Hurst, TX 76053.

· Rehearsals begin March 23, 2021 and are from 6:30pm – 9:30pm Monday – Friday, and Saturdays from 10:00am – 4:00pm.

· Actor ages are 12-18.

· There will be a $100 production fee per person.

· Please be on time for your audition. Thank you!

PRODUCTION DATES:

April 30 – May 20, 2021 performances through May 15, 2021 will be Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30pm, and Saturdays at 3:00pm and 7:30pm. Performances May 17-20, 2021 will be at 7:30pm.

AUDITIONS:

Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show that best displays your vocal ability. Performers are asked to bring sheet music or a CD with their accompaniment. No singing a cappella please.

Please see website for conflict calendar. It is critical that you let Artisan Center Theater know all of your conflicts at the auditions. Artisan Center Theater will be unable to accept conflicts after casting is done unless they are emergencies.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Les Misérables is a beloved tale of forgiveness and repentance follows the life of an ex-convict hunted for decades after he breaks parole by a ruthless policeman. When he agrees to care for the young daughter of a factory worker, their lives change forever. Set against a backdrop of student protests and government overthrow, this powerful musical tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.

Jean Valjean is the hero of the show and it is his life journey that we follow.

Javert is the inspector who serves as antagonist to Jean Valjean.

Bishop of Digne is a good man who saves Valjean’s soul through showing compassion.

Fantine is the beautiful, young girl who, abandoned by her love, is left to fend for herself and her daughter.

The Foreman begins Fantine on her desperate, downward spiral.

Bamatabois is the customer who taunts Fantine into violence.

Young Cosette is Fantine’s daughter and the Thnardiers’ ward.

Madame Thénardier is married to Thnardier. She and Thnardier con the world as partners in crime.

Thnardier is the true villain. He is the embodiment of evil. He also possesses a wicked sense of humor.

Young Eponine is the pampered daughter of the Thnardiers.

Gavroche is Thnardier’s son. He is left to fend for himself and lives by his wits in the streets of Paris.

Eponine is Thnardiers’ daughter. Living hand to mouth, she survives by helping her father in his life of crime.

Enjolras is the student leader. He is handsome, brave, and daring, although youthful.

Marius is the romantic hero of the story. He is impulsive, passionate, willful, and headstrong.

Cosette is Fantine’s strong-willed, loving daughter. She is an intelligent, inquiring, personable girl.

Artisan Center Theater produces year round, full scale Broadway style musicals in their 195-seat theater-in-the-round.
