AUDITIONS: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
JANUARY 7TH & JANUARY 8TH
Tacoma Little Theatre is holding auditions for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, directed by Lexi Barnett with musical direction by Leischen Moore.
Auditions will be held Sunday, January 7th and Monday, January 8th at Tacoma Little Theatre. Audition appointments will be set between the times of 6:00pm-9:00pmon Sunday and 7:00pm-10:00pm on Monday. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, January 9th.
It seems especially fitting that the first rock opera, created as a concept album at the end of the turbulent '60s, should have at its center a social and political rebel. Jesus' meteor-like rise in renown provides, as the title suggests, a parallel to contemporary celebrity worship. As his radical teachings are evermore embraced, Judas increasingly questions the enlightened motives of this new prophet, resulting in betrayal. Christ's final days are dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge, and explosive theatricality. Propelled by a stirring score, by turns driving and majestic, satirical and tender, Jesus Christ Superstar illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart.
Please prepare an up-tempo song of 32 bars in the style of the piece to showcase your acting and vocal abilities. This musical audition will be used to evaluate both your voice and acting abilities. All roles are available and all ethnicities are welcome to audition. For more information see
